Well, I'm here in South Africa! The flights went pretty well in spite of being really long. We flew to London in an arch pattern, catching the bottom part of Greenland. I could even see huge chunks of ice floating in the water!! We left in darkness but it was only a few hours before we caught up to the time zones and it was light out. It's a good thing they have shutters on the windows! As we flew over London, I noticed a lot of "round-abouts" - like traffic circles at major intersections. I suppose that eliminates overpasses and keeps traffic flowing. London airport was a bit of a let-down - not much to do in the terminal I was in, so I tried to catch a few Zs. The flight to South Africa was about 10 or 11 hours, I can't remember. That one was long, but the food they served us was amazing! I think I'm going to like that part of being in Africa... :)
After all that traveling, it was nice to be able to have a long nap once I got here. I'm staying with a missionary couple whose ministry is taking care of missionaries traveling through to Mozambique plus buying and sending supplies that is cheaper and easier to find here. They are British-Canadians, so we have a bit in common! I'll spend tonight and tomorrow here, and fly out to Mozambique on Friday. So glad I'm here!
