| Today I was encouraged by a Venezuelan - that I was sent as a gift to teach Venezuela how to be responsible. Wow! All this time I thought I was pushing too hard - everytime someone (mostly YWAM) was late or didn´t follow through on their promises, I brought it up! I had a conversation with H the other day and I was desperately trying to get him to understand that I´m not just saying this because it´s my culture, but because I truly believe it´s an important thing for Christians to live by. But all he had to say was that I need to adapt to the culture more - take it easy. That just made me more frustrated. Another woman always tells me that I have to be flexible. Ok, so I´m learning, I´m adjusting, but I refuse to give up a sense of completing things with integrity. I told H that I want to be a person people can count on. So now when I get a word of encouragement from a Venezuelan, I feel that God is saying, "It´s alright - it´s not easy to try to live that way here, but I will bless you for standing up for what is right. I will use you to teach my children in Venezuela how to be faithful." Wow, God, what an honour! (Could this be the new vision/direction that I´ve been asking for?) It´s going to be hard, but you have promised to never leave me - and you always keep your word!!!!! |
